Roadway Engineer II

Roadway Engineer IIParsons is now hiring for a Roadway Engineer II to join our Kansas City team supporting major regional road and highway projects. The ideal candidate will report remotely, based in the Kansas City area.What You'll Be Doing:Collaborate frequently with senior engineers and project managers; perform a wide range of roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the independent application of standard and advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexityUtilize drafting and modeling software, tools, and programs to develop and refine conceptual, preliminary, and detailed roadway designsPerform and review design calculations, including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates, and support value engineering effortsAssist in and increasingly lead the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projectsSupport coordination with other disciplines (structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, etc.) to ensure integrated and constructible roadway designsAssist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchases, services, and subcontracts, and support bid document developmentProvide limited guidance to junior engineers and designers on assigned tasks, helping to ensure quality and adherence to standardsPerform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriateWhat Skills & Qualifications You'll Bring:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)5 years or more of progressive roadway or highway engineering experience; DOT or municipal transportation project experience neededProfessional Engineer PE Registration requiredProficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads is requiredWorking knowledge of applicable roadway design standards and guidelines, state DOT design manuals is preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and participate as part of a multidisciplinary engineering teamSalary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00We value our employees and want our employees to take care of their overall wellbeing, which is why we offer best-in-class benefits such as medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k), life insurance, flexible work schedules, and holidays to fit your busy lifestyle!
