Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Integration Engineer with strong expertise in Linux/Windows environments, scripting, REST APIs, databases, networking, secure file transfer, cloud platforms, workflow automation, and Dev Sec Ops.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on development and troubleshooting capabilities and be comfortable working across application, infrastructure, integration, and cloud environments. The role will involve developing secure integrations, automating workflows, supporting enterprise applications, and implementing reliable CI/CD processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application & Integration Development

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software applications and integration solutions. Develop scalable and maintainable application components using modern programming and scripting languages. Build and maintain integrations between internal applications, external systems, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from design through production support. Develop reusable components and automation frameworks to improve engineering efficiency. Troubleshoot application, integration, and environment-related issues.

2. REST API Development & Integration

Design, develop, consume, and maintain RESTful APIs. Work with HTTP/HTTPS protocols and common API communication patterns. Develop secure API integrations between enterprise applications and external systems. Handle API authentication, authorization, error handling, request/response validation, and logging. Troubleshoot API connectivity, timeout, authentication, and data-transformation issues. Perform API testing and validation using appropriate tools. Ensure APIs follow enterprise security, reliability, and performance standards.

3. Linux & Windows Administration

Work extensively across Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems. Perform application deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support. Use Linux/Unix command-line utilities for system and application troubleshooting. Analyze system and application logs to identify root causes. Manage files, processes, services, permissions, and environment configurations. Develop scripts to automate operational and application-support activities. Troubleshoot environment-specific issues across development, testing, and production environments.

4. Bash Scripting & Automation

Develop and maintain Bash/Shell scripts for automation and operational processes. Automate application deployment, file processing, monitoring, validation, and system-management tasks. Develop scripts for batch processing and scheduled workflows. Build reusable automation utilities to minimize manual intervention. Troubleshoot and optimize existing scripts. Work with scripting languages and programming languages based on project requirements.

5. Database & SQL Development

Work with relational databases and develop efficient SQL queries. Design, execute, and optimize SQL queries for application and integration requirements. Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation. Troubleshoot database connectivity and data-related issues. Analyze database performance and identify potential bottlenecks. Work with application teams to ensure correct data flow between systems. Maintain data integrity and follow appropriate security practices when handling sensitive information.

6. Networking & Protocols

Apply strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts. Troubleshoot connectivity between applications, servers, databases, APIs, and external systems. Work with: TCP/IP DNS Ports Proxies Firewalls Load balancers HTTP/HTTPS Diagnose connectivity, timeout, routing, and authentication issues. Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to resolve complex integration issues.

7. Secure File Transfer & Data Exchange

Develop and support secure file-based integrations. Work with file transfer protocols including: SFTP FTPS Automate file transfers and processing using scripts and workflow solutions. Implement file validation, encryption/decryption, error handling, and retry mechanisms. Troubleshoot file-transfer failures and connectivity issues. Ensure sensitive files are securely transferred and handled according to enterprise security standards.

8. Encryption & Security

Work with encryption and security technologies including: X.509 certificates SSH PGP TLS/SSL Manage and troubleshoot certificates, keys, and secure connections. Support certificate generation, deployment, renewal, and troubleshooting. Implement secure communication between applications and external systems. Ensure sensitive data is protected during transmission and processing. Follow enterprise security policies and least-privilege principles.

9. Workflow Engine Development

Design and develop automated processes using enterprise workflow engines. Translate business processes into workflow-based technical solutions. Configure workflow steps, dependencies, conditions, and error-handling mechanisms. Integrate workflows with APIs, databases, file-transfer systems, and external applications. Monitor workflow execution and troubleshoot failures. Optimize workflows to improve reliability and processing efficiency. Develop reusable workflow components and automation patterns.

10. Cloud Engineering

Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms:

AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Responsibilities include:

Develop and deploy applications and integrations in cloud environments. Work with cloud networking, storage, compute, IAM, and security services. Manage sensitive assets and configurations securely in cloud environments. Apply appropriate access controls and security policies. Troubleshoot cloud application and connectivity issues. Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Ensure applications meet availability, security, and performance requirements.

11. Dev Sec Ops

Integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Apply Dev Sec Ops principles across development, testing, deployment, and operations. Identify and address security risks early in the development lifecycle. Follow secure coding and deployment practices. Support security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities. Ensure sensitive credentials, certificates, keys, and configuration information are securely managed. Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to implement appropriate controls.

12. CI/CD & Release Automation

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using: Circle CI Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD platforms. Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes. Integrate automated testing and security checks into pipelines. Manage application versions and deployment artifacts. Support automated deployments across multiple environments. Troubleshoot pipeline failures and deployment issues. Implement reliable rollback and recovery mechanisms where required. Improve release processes through automation and standardization.

13. Troubleshooting & Production Support

Provide technical support for application and integration issues. Perform detailed root-cause analysis of production incidents. Analyze application logs, system logs, API responses, network traces, and database information. Troubleshoot: API failures File-transfer issues Certificate problems Database connectivity Workflow failures Network connectivity Application configuration issues CI/CD deployment failures Coordinate with infrastructure, security, database, network, and application teams to resolve complex incidents. Implement permanent fixes and preventive measures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of overall software engineering / integration / application development experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience working with: Windows/Linux operating systems Bash scripting Relational databases and SQL Networking fundamentals HTTP/HTTPS Secure communication protocols SFTP/FTPS Strong experience with REST API development and integration. Experience developing processes using workflow engines. Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience managing sensitive assets in cloud environments. Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops principles. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Circle CI, Jenkins, or equivalent. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Programming & Scripting

Proficiency in multiple programming/scripting languages is preferred, with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies.

Experience with:
