Position Title: National Director of Technology Salary: $150,000 - $185,000 + 10% bonus Other Forms of Compensation: Our Passion is Food! Job Summary The Director of Technology is a senior technical leadership role responsible for driving the full technology strategy, systems integration, data intelligence, and digital infrastructure for a large-scale national corporate dining account. This individual serves as the account's embedded technology executive — a leader who partners with Culinary, Operations, and Finance to design, build, and scale the systems that power service delivery, benchmarking, and business intelligence. This role sits at the intersection of technology and hospitality. The Director will be the primary architect of how data flows from cafe operations, micro-kitchen services (MKs), events, and all other dining service lines into dashboards and reports that drive real decisions. They will build and maintain the KPI infrastructure that allows events, operations, culinary, and finance leaders to benchmark performance, understand consumption trends, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This is a hands-on builder role. The ideal candidate is fluent in modern coding languages, AI/ML tooling, and enterprise platforms (Smartsheet, Microsoft 365), with a proven track record of architecting systems and dashboards that translate complex operational data into executive-ready insights. Food service or hospitality background is not required; intellectual curiosity and a builder's mindset are essential. Hospitality KPI Framework & Benchmarking A core responsibility of this role is establishing, maintaining, and evolving the account's KPI framework across all dining service channels. The table below represents the primary measurement domains the Director of Technology is responsible for tracking, reporting, and building infrastructure around. Service Area / Partner Key Performance Indicators Tracked Cafe- Participation rate, transactions per day, average check, revenue per seat, waste %, peak period throughput, guest satisfaction scores. MKS (Micro-Kitchen Services)- Utilization rate by location, replenishment frequency, consumption by category (beverages, snacks, fresh), cost per employee served, stockout rate. Events & Catering- Event tickets fulfilled on time, labor cost per event, average revenue per event, client satisfaction, food waste per event. Food Quality & Standards- Menu compliance rate, food safety audit scores, temperature log adherence, recipe adherence %, new menu adoption rate. Hospitality Experience- Guest satisfaction (CSAT/NPS), complaint resolution time, service recovery rate, repeat visit rate, hospitality audit scores. Culinary Performance- Food cost %, scratch cooking ratio, seasonal menu rotation, dietary accommodation fulfillment, tasting panel scores. Operations & Labor- Labor cost %, scheduled vs. actual hours, overtime rate, turnover by role, training compliance %. Financial / Finance Partner- Budget vs. actuals by service line, cost-per-meal trends, subsidy tracking, P&L by location, invoicing accuracy. Sustainability & Waste- Food waste by station (lbs/day), tray waste %, composting diversion rate, eco-packaging compliance. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Develop and execute the hospitality technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Own systems architecture, integrations, data flows, reporting platforms, and AI solutions.
  • Establish technology standards, governance processes, security requirements, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
Systems, Coding & Development
  • Write, review, and oversee production-quality code using technologies such as Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure, and Power Platform.
  • Develop APIs, automated workflows, data pipelines, and reporting solutions connecting operational systems, POS and financial systems
  • Develop and manage Smartsheet-based tracking systems, automation workflows, and cross-sheet dashboards
  • Maintain technology documentation, system inventories, and integration roadmaps.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
  • Build and govern KPI frameworks supporting operations, culinary, finance, guest experience, and sustainability.

  • Demonstrated fluency in AI/ML tools, including large language models, AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI), and generative AI workflows
  • Identify and implement AI, automation, and emerging technologies that improve service delivery and business intelligence.
  • Conduct pilots, evaluate business value, and ensure responsible adoption of AI technologies.
  • Champion responsible AI adoption across the account; identify and prototype use cases that improve reporting, efficiency, and service delivery
  • Stay current with emerging technology trends and assess applicability to hospitality and managed services environments
Additional Responsibilities Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Lead vendor selection, technology evaluations, and implementation governance.
  • Manage contractors, systems integrators, consultants, and service providers.
  • Define technical requirements, statements of work, implementation standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor budgets, deliverables, risks, and vendor performance.
KPIs, Dashboards & Reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting infrastructure (Smartsheet, Power BI) that surface operational, culinary, and financial KPIs to leadership and client stakeholders
  • Define and govern the account's full KPI framework in partnership with Culinary, Operations, and Finance leaders
  • Develop automated reporting cadences (daily, weekly, monthly) across all service lines and locations
  • Translate complex, multi-source data sets into clear visual narratives that drive decision-making at all levels of the organization
  • Establish benchmarking standards across locations and develop comparative analysis tools that identify performance gaps and opportunities
Stakeholder Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technology liaison between the account, the client's IT organization, and corporate technology teams
  • Communicate technical strategy, project status, and risk clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders
  • Drive technology adoption, user enablement, and change managment
  • Train and support operations, culinary, and finance managers on platform usage, data literacy, and dashboard navigation

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in technology leadership, systems architecture, data platforms, or digital transformation
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise technology solutions across multiple systems and service lines
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages; experience with APIs, integrations, workflow automation, and cloud platforms
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise technology standards
  • Experience building and maintaining KPI frameworks, metrics systems, executive dashboards, and benchmarking tools across multi-site or multi-unit operational environments
  • Experience integrating multi-platform operational systems, preferably within managed services or hospitality environments (POS, catering platforms, MKS management tools)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in close collaboration with operations, finance, and non-technical business partners, including vendor and contractor management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for culinary, operational, and executive audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in managed services, hospitality, food service, corporate dining, workplace services, facilities technology, or managed services experience.
  • Experience integrating POS, catering, reservation, inventory, workplace, or financial systems
  • Experience building consumption tracking, waste reporting, or sustainability metrics for food service or retail environments
  • Experience with AI platforms, intelligent automation, analytics environments, and cloud data technologies.
  • Certifications such as Azure, Power BI, PMP, Enterprise Architecture, or AI-related credentials.
  • Experience building client-facing reporting and executive dashboards for managed services accounts
