Hiring: Backend Automation Engineer – Microservices API Testing & Kafka

Location: Chennai / Hyderabad / Bangalore / Noida / Pune / Coimbatore

Experience: 7–12 Years

⏳ Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Preferred

We are looking for an experienced Backend Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Microservices Testing, API Automation, Apache Kafka, and Database Testing .

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable automation frameworks and validating end-to-end distributed systems across APIs → Kafka Events → Databases .

Mandatory Skills

✅ 7–12 years of experience in Software QA and Test Automation

✅ Strong experience in Microservices and Distributed Systems Testing

✅ Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka

• Topics, Producers & Consumers
• Partitions & Offsets
• Message and Event Flow Validation
• Kafka Message Schema and Payload Validation

✅ Strong experience in API Automation Testing

• REST Assured
• Postman or equivalent tools

✅ Strong programming experience in:

• Java
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• Python

✅ Experience in developing Automation Frameworks from Scratch

✅ Strong experience in Database Automation Testing

✅ Ability to write Complex SQL Queries

✅ Experience with relational databases such as:

• Oracle
• PostgreSQL
• MySQL

✅ Strong experience validating data consistency across:

API → Kafka → Database → Downstream Services

✅ Experience with End-to-End Testing of Microservices Workflows

✅ Knowledge of:

• CI/CD Pipelines
• Git / GitHub
• Agile / Scrum

⭐ Added Advantage: Experience with Playwright or other UI Automation tools

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable automation frameworks for microservices and distributed applications.

Develop automated test suites for REST APIs and microservices.

Validate end-to-end workflows across API → Kafka → Database layers .

Automate Kafka event validation including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, headers, keys, timestamps, schemas, and payloads.

Perform database automation testing and backend data validation.

Write complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks.

Validate data consistency across APIs, Kafka events, databases, and downstream microservices.

Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, System, and End-to-End Testing.

Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

Analyze logs, Kafka messages, database records, and API responses to troubleshoot defects.

Collaborate with Development, Product, DevOps, Architecture, and QA teams in an Agile environment.

Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to improving automation practices and test coverage.
