Job Description
Objective of the Role – Managing Director (Emerging & Expanding Business)
To lead the organization's transformation and scale-up journey, driving 3 X growth over the next 3–4 years while building a robust, future-ready enterprise aligned for a successful IPO. The role entails full ownership of the P& L and all organizational functions, setting strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, strengthening governance, and delivering sustainable, profitable growth with strong stakeholder confidence. It also includes driving product and technology evolution, ensuring the portfolio is future-ready, competitive, and aligned with emerging market and industry trends.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
Define and execute the long-term strategy to achieve 3 X growth, including market expansion, new product development, and entry into new geographies.
P& L Ownership
Hold full accountability for end-to-end P& L, driving revenue growth, profitability, cost optimization, and capital efficiency.
Enterprise Leadership (All Functions)
Provide leadership across all core functions—manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, finance, HR, R& D, and quality—ensuring alignment with business goals.
IPO Readiness & Corporate Governance
Lead the organization's IPO journey, strengthening governance frameworks, financial transparency, compliance, and investor readiness.
Operational Excellence & Scale-Up
Drive efficiency across multi-plant operations, capacity expansion, quality improvements, and adoption of best-in-class manufacturing practices.
Product & Technology Strategy
Lead the development of a future-ready product portfolio, investing in innovation, R& D, and technology to stay competitive and meet evolving customer needs.
Business Development & Market Expansion
Expand domestic and global markets, build strategic partnerships, and strengthen relationships with key customers and OEMs.
Leadership & Organization Building
Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team; drive succession planning and organizational capability development.
Stakeholder & Investor Management
Engage effectively with the Board, investors, lenders, and external stakeholders; represent the organization in strategic forums.
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure robust risk management practices, regulatory compliance, and adherence to corporate governance standards.
Transformation & Digitalization
Drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives including digital adoption, automation, and process optimization.
Culture & Performance Management
Foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: 25+ years of progressive leadership experience, with a strong focus on the automotive / manufacturing sector
Industry Background: Deep expertise in automotive (OEM / Tier-1 / Tier-2) is critical; exposure to allied high-precision industries is an added advantage
Role Exposure: Proven track record as MD / CEO / Business Head with full P& L responsibility
Business Scale Experience:
Experience managing large-scale operations with multi-plant setup Exposure to organizations with significant revenue scale and growth transformation mandatesGrowth & Transformation:
Demonstrated success in driving high-growth journeys (2 X–3 X scaling) Experience in business transformation, turnaround, or expansion initiativesIPO / Governance Exposure:
Strong exposure to IPO readiness / listed environment / investor engagement Deep understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and board managementFunctional Expertise:
