Our client, a TOP 20 ACCOUNTANCY FIRM, seeks to recruit a suitably experienced Personal Tax Senior Associate to take responsibility for a varied, high quality client portfolio based in their Edinburgh office- good flexible/hybrid working available.\ N
Role:\ N
Managing a personal tax portfolio including complex cases, HNWIs.\ N Ensuring tax returns are completed and filed by the deadline.\ N Completion and compliance to all tax return control procedures\ N Checking and updating client PAYE codes\ N National Insurance calculations\ N Dealing with client andHMRC correspondence\ N Preparation of trust & partnership returns.\ N Undertake more complex CGT calculations\ N Undertake income tax planning for the client.\ N Preparation of forms P11D and P11D(b).\ N Tax responsibility for training junior staff as guided by the tax manager.\ N Giving clear and unambiguous instructions.\ N Assisting the tax manager to ensure junior staff are managing their portfolio\ N Billing clients
Take responsibility for own training records.\ N To manage personal timeand working practices to maximize profitability and protect the good reputation of the firm.\ N To maintain the higheststandards of personal organisation, setting an example to more junior members of staff.\ N Maintaining progress reports\ N

Ideal person:\ N

Qualified or studying towards CTA/AAT//ACA/ACCA though not essential\ N Up to date technical knowledge of taxation and the firm’s software packages.\ N Awareness of departmental objectives and key performance indicators.\ N Awareness of the firm’sservices and product offering.\ N Ability to use sector software, in particular accounts prep, Excel, Word and e-mail systems.\ N To be able to draft letters which are commercially sensible and appropriate to the client's situation.\ N Adapt to different audiences and able to thoroughly research available data and present findings in a way which can be understood by both clients and staff.\ N Willingness to combine the demands of a full time role whilst studying for further qualifications.\ N Flexibility in approachto tasks.\ N Ability to prioritise own workload.\ N Ability to use professional judgement where appropriate.\ N Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.\ N Have an aptitude for figures and an interest in business and commerce.\ N Good communication skills.\ N Attention to detail andaccuracy of work.\ N Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and IT applications.\ N
