Job Summary: We are looking for a creative and experienced Graphic Designer with a background in the publishing industry to join our team. The ideal candidate should be skilled in designing book layouts, covers, and promotional materials, with a strong understanding of the visual requirements for print and digital publishing. The candidate should also have experience in managing multiple projects, collaborating with editorial and production teams, and delivering high-quality design work within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Design and layout book covers, interior pages, and eBooks in line with publishing standards.

·        Collaborate closely with editors, authors, and the production team to ensure cohesive visual storytelling.

·        Create visually appealing promotional materials, such as brochures, banners, and marketing graphics for both print and digital platforms.

·        Ensure all designs meet the technical requirements for printing, including colour management, resolution, and file formatting.

·        Develop concepts and design strategies that align with the company's branding and publishing vision.

·        Revise designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders, maintaining a high standard of quality throughout the process.

·        Stay updated on design trends and emerging technologies relevant to publishing.

·        Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

·        Prepare files for print production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

·        Proven experience (5+ years) as a Graphic Designer in the publishing industry.

·        Proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant tools.

·        Strong portfolio showcasing design work related to book covers, layouts, and promotional materials.

·        Solid understanding of print production processes, including prepress preparation and file management.

·        Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail and meet strict deadlines.

·        Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

·        Creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities in visual design.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience with digital publishing formats (eBooks, interactive PDFs).

·        Familiarity with typography and layout design for longform content.

·        Basic knowledge of web design and social media graphics.

·        Experience working with content management systems (CMS) for publishing.
