Electrical Estimator

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, costs, and resources to provide accurate estimates for a range of electrical projects.  You will work closely with our existing estimating and project management team, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders. This is primarily a plan-and-spec estimating role.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirementsPrepare detailed cost estimates for electrical materials, labor, and equipmentUtilize digital tools and software such as Electrical Bid Manager, McCormmick, or ConestUtilize digital tools and software such as Bluebeam and the Microsoft 365 SuitePrepare bid proposals and presentationsManage multiple bids and deadlinesRisk management and communicationObtain and analyze vendor quotes for materials and subcontractorsMaintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentationCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimatesStrong understanding of the National Electrical CodeStay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and cost saving measuresContribute to the ongoing development and improvement of estimating processes and toolsAttend pre-bids and visit job sites as needed to assess existing conditions and gather information.Occasional travel to local and out-of-state sites and meetingsAnalyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy
Desired QualificationsExperience:3+ years of experience as an estimator in electrical services, with a strong understanding of estimating software and tools.3+ years managing projects in the field.Skills and Qualifications:Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawingsJourneyman or Master Electrician licenseFull estimating capabilitiesExercise independenceStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong understanding of electrical systems, codes, construction practices, and cost structuresExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyCertifications and Bonus Qualifications (Optional):Familiarity with takeoff software such as PlanSwiftExperience with automation and control systems (PLC programming, SCADA, HMI)Knowledge of instrumentation and process control
Office Location and TravelThis is an on-site position. Estimators work out of our main office in Goessel, KS. Occasional travel to local and out of state sites and meetings is expected, though overnight trips are not common.
