<p> WE’RE HIRING: MERCHANDISER CUM DESIGNER </p> <p> Location: Kolkata | Full-time </p> <p> Albeli is looking for a hands-on production merchandiser who can manage the complete journey from design ideation and sampling to production and final quality control. </p> <p> This role requires someone who understands fabrics, embroidery, artisan-led production, and commercial design development. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with designers, karigars, dyers, vendors, and the internal production team. </p> <p> Key responsibilities: </p> <p>• Develop approximately 10 commercially viable design concepts every month based on market trends, buyer feedback, and the brand’s design language </p> <p>• Convert initial ideas into workable designs through references, sketches, artwork tracing, fabric selection, and embroidery detailing </p> <p>• Manage sampling and production merchandising from concept approval to final execution </p> <p>• Prepare line sheets, Bills of Materials, material codes, style files, and detailed production documents </p> <p>• Coordinate with karigars, dyers, tailors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution </p> <p>• Manage fabric swatches, trims, labels, accessories, embroidery materials, and approved samples </p> <p>• Monitor fabric dyeing, shade matching, raw-material distribution, embroidery, stitching, and finishing </p> <p>• Plan production schedules and regularly follow up on sampling and bulk-production timelines </p> <p>• Conduct raw-material inspection, dyed-fabric checking, measurement verification, and final quality control </p> <p>• Maintain design records, sample archives, production trackers, and inventory updates </p> <p>• Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of fabrics, trims, samples, and finished products </p> <p>• Identify production delays or quality issues early and coordinate corrective action </p> <p> What we are looking for: </p> <p>• Experience in production or sampling merchandising within sarees, ethnic wear, designer wear, bridal wear, or luxury fashion </p> <p>• Strong understanding of fabrics, dyeing, embroidery, stitching, finishing, and garment construction </p> <p>• Ability to combine creative design ideation with practical production execution </p> <p>• Good visual sense and understanding of commercially viable colours, motifs, placements, and surface ornamentation </p> <p>• Strong coordination, follow-up, organisation, and problem-solving skills </p> <p>• Working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel for production and inventory tracking </p> <p>• Ability to communicate effectively with artisans, vendors, designers, and internal teams </p> <p>• Willingness to work closely with the production floor and take ownership of deadlines and quality </p> <p> If you understand both creativity and execution and can turn an idea into a production-ready design, we would like to hear from you. </p> #Hiring #Production Merchandiser #Fashion Jobs
