This is a 2-year, fully remote W2 contract
Must live within the state of Texas, preferably the Austin-metro
Position Overview
- Own and evolve a clinical dashboard and patient portal that aggregates patient data from labs, imaging, wearables, and clinical notes into a unified platform for physicians and patients.
- Design and build AI-driven automation and agentic workflows to streamline operational processes such as referral tracking, lab follow-ups, appointment preparation, and document routing.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, integrations, and APIs connecting EMR systems, wearable platforms, lab vendors, and other healthcare data sources.
- Architect reliable back-end services and secure systems with strong focus on authentication, authorization, audit logging, and HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate directly with physicians, operations teams, and research partners to rapidly iterate on platform capabilities and improve clinical workflows.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development across backend services, data systems, and user-facing interfaces.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered systems, agentic workflows, or LLM-driven automation .
- Strong backend and data engineering experience including API integrations, relational data modeling, and data pipelines .
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, or similar .
- Solid understanding of security best practices, authentication, authorization, and HIPAA-compliant systems .
- Experience working with AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, or similar) as part of a daily development workflow.
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of an end-to-end platform.
