Hurricane Animal Hospital is currently in search of a reliable, dynamic, and self-motivated individual who is passionate about animals and possesses experience in animal care, animal handling, and customer service. Our focus is on delivering medical care to dogs and cats. As our hospital continues to expand, we are aiming to extend our operating hours by introducing evening and weekend shifts. We are seeking a full-time assistant to assist with kennel care and janitorial services primarily on weekday evenings, as well as rotating weekend shifts. We are open to considering multiple part-time employees as well.

The ideal veterinary assistant should be proficient in animal restraint and capable of providing compassionate nursing care. Duties may involve administering medication, handling animals in a fear-free and low-stress manner, walking dogs, basic pet grooming, and nail trimming.

Effective communication regarding patient care and status during evening hours is crucial for this role. Additionally, there will be a significant focus on cleaning, preparing for the next day's procedures, and general maintenance tasks during non-customer hours. Building maintenance, equipment upkeep, and cleanliness are top priorities in this position.
