THIS OPPORTUNITY
WSP is searching for On Call Field Archaeologists for multiple potential projects throughout the southwest, Midwest, and southeast to support projects throughout the late summer and fall seasons. Take part in providing local technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compiling of artifacts, observational, and spatial data concerning a variety of archaeological and historical sciences. Provides local assistance with field investigations relating to construction, infrastructure, transmission, energy, pollution control, emergency response, and preserving the quality of the environment by identifying, controlling, and preventing disruption to resources of cultural and scientific significance. Generates accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.YOUR IMPACT
* Under general supervision, assist with collecting, identifying, and compiling artifacts, observational, spatial, and archaeological data from field sites for projects, investigations, and surveys. * Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurement and documentation. * Assist with performing basic professional archaeological work relating to cultural resources, assisting with verifying the characteristics of a site and providing entry-level technical assistance on various preservation and environmental issues. * Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook. * Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, laboratory or statistical documentation, and logbooks. * Utilize the latest archaeological methods, procedures, technologies, and techniques in performing studies and analysis of sites and potential impacts to resources of cultural and scientific significance.- Complete training on assigned tasks.

WHO YOU ARE
Required Qualifications * Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or a closely related field; Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience.- 0-2 years of archaeological or anthropology related experience.
- Experience conducting Phase I/Class III pedestrian survey and shovel
