<p> Position Summary </p><p> The Internal Communications Specialist plays a vital role in keeping Morgan Properties' employees informed, connected, and engaged across a large, geographically distributed workforce. This position is the hands-on owner of the company's day-to-day internal communications — translating strategic direction into polished, on-brand content that reaches the right employees, through the right channels, at the right time. </p><p> This is an execution-focused individual contributor role. Working under the guidance of the Director, Employee Experience, the Specialist is responsible for writing and producing communications across a broad range of channels — from email campaigns and intranet content to digital signage, mobile/SMS, and leadership messaging. The role requires a skilled storyteller who can simplify complex information, adapt voice and tone for diverse audiences, and maintain a high standard of quality and consistency across every touchpoint. </p><p> Success in this role demands someone who is both detail-oriented and highly organized — someone who can manage a busy editorial calendar, juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently deliver polished work on deadline. The Specialist also brings a collaborative mindset, building relationships across departments to surface employee stories, support communications for key initiatives, and ensure frontline employees who lack regular desk or email access are never left behind. </p><p> The core mission of this role is to make every Morgan Properties employee feel informed and valued — no matter where they work. The ideal candidate is adaptable , tech-savvy , and motivated by the challenge of communicating effectively at scale, including through emerging AI-assisted workflows that support the speed and reach our workforce demands. </p><p> Essential Duties </p><p> Content Creation & Messaging </p><ul><li> Write, edit, and produce internal communications — including announcements, briefs, intranet articles, email campaigns, and digital signage — in a clear, consistent, and on-brand voice. </li><li> Translate complex, technical, or sensitive updates into simple, engaging content tailored for a multi-site employee audience. </li><li> Draft and package executive and leadership messaging under the direction of the Director, ensuring accuracy, appropriate tone, and alignment to strategic themes. </li></ul><p> Channel Management & Distribution </p><ul><li> Manage the day-to-day operation of all internal communication channels — email, intranet, mobile/SMS, digital displays, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Viva Engage. </li><li> Maintain the enterprise editorial calendar, keeping content scheduled, segmented, and distributed on time for both field-based and corporate audiences. </li><li> Own communication templates, brand standards, and the asset library to ensure consistency across every touchpoint. </li><li> Partner with site and regional contacts to ensure critical messages reach frontline employees who may lack regular access to email or shared devices. </li></ul><p> Measurement & Continuous Improvement </p><ul><li> Track, analyze, and report on communication performance metrics — including open rates, reach, readership, and engagement — and share insights with the Director on a regular cadence. </li><li> Gather employee feedback on communications effectiveness and recommend actionable improvements to content strategy, format, and channel mix. </li><li> Utilize AI tools — within guidelines established by the Director — to support drafting, editing, translation, personalization, and scaling of content for a distributed workforce. </li></ul><p> Collaboration & Campaign Support </p><ul><li> Partner with functional teams across the organization to source employee stories, surface key updates, and support their internal communication needs. </li><li> Provide communications planning and execution support for company-wide campaigns, change management initiatives, and culture-building programs as directed. </li><li> Maintain a steady pipeline of employee recognition moments and stories that reinforce Morgan Properties' culture, values, and sense of community. </li></ul><p> Additional Duties: Tasks or duties not outlined in this job description may be required to contribute to the organization's success and efficiency. </p><p> Qualifications </p><p> Education & Experience: </p><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered. </li><li> 1-3 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, content strategy, or a related field. </li><li> Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a demonstrated ability to adapt voice and tone for different audiences and channels. </li><li> Hands-on experience managing internal communication channels, including email marketing platforms, intranet/CMS systems, and collaboration tools. </li><li> Experience developing communications for frontline, or geographically distributed workforces strongly preferred. </li><li> Comfort and sound judgment using AI tools to support content creation, editing, personalization, and scaled distribution. </li><li> Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision. </li></ul><p> Tools & Systems: </p><ul><li> Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). </li><li> Experience with Microsoft 365 communication tools including SharePoint, Teams, and Viva Engage (or equivalent platforms). </li><li> Familiarity with email marketing or employee communications platforms (e.g., Beekeeper, Poppulo, Staffbase, or similar). </li><li> Experience with digital signage platforms and/or mobile employee communication tools a plus. </li></ul><p> Physical Requirements & Work Environment <br /> Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job. </p><p> Physical Demands: </p><p> This role is primarily sedentary, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
