Managing a diversified book of business, the full-time Inland Marine Underwriter will assess risks, determine premiums, and negotiate deals while working remotely or from South Texas locations. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain profitable relationships with agents and brokers, focusing on new accounts and renewals Analyze data to determine risk selection, premiums, and policies, identifying opportunities for growth and diversification Document account reviews and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines while mentoring junior underwriters Required qualifications Intermediate-level knowledge of insurance products, market segments, and regulatory environments Advanced-level knowledge of underwriting, pricing, and risk selection Ability to apply underwriting tools and resources, typically acquired through a bachelor's degree or 5-8 years of commercial lines underwriting experience CPCU or a professional insurance designation is preferred
