Job Description

We are seeking three driven, hands-on Shift Supervisors to lead the Rubber Moulding section at our Bhiwadi manufacturing facility. Our plant specializes in the production of rubber footwear soles and rubber sheets.

This role is ideal for experienced supervisors with a strong background in rubber compression moulding. While prior experience in footwear sole and sheet manufacturing is highly preferred, candidates with solid compression moulding experience from other rubber manufacturing sectors (e.g., auto components, industrial rubber goods) are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Target Execution: Plan, assign, and execute daily shift production to meet output, yield, and delivery targets for rubber soles and sheet lines.
• Machinery Oversight: Ensure smooth, safe operation of key rubber machinery, including Hydraulic Compression Presses, Kneaders, Two-Roll Mixing Mills, and Calenders.
• Moulding & Curing Control: Monitor critical parameters (curing time, platen temperature, hydraulic pressure, and breathing cycles) to ensure optimal vulcanization.

Quality & Material Management

• Coloured Compound Handling: Oversee operations using coloured rubber compounds, ensuring strict line-clearance protocols to prevent cross-contamination, shade variation, and discoloration.
• Compound & Shelf-Life Care: Ensure mixed compounds are stored correctly (FIFO method) and used within their recommended scorch/shelf-life window.
• Scrap & Wastage Reduction: Monitor and record flash allowance, trim waste, and defective parts to keep scrap percentages within strict tolerance limits.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process defects in real time (e.g., under-cure, over-cure, air traps, porosity, flow lines, blistering, or surface defects).
• Mould Care & Tooling: Oversee basic mould cleaning, release-agent application, and proper loading/unloading to prevent damage to expensive moulds and dies.
• Downtime Minimization: Conduct basic preventive checks and coordinate swiftly with the maintenance team to resolve mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic breakdowns.

Leadership & Administration

• Manpower Management: Manage shift workers, operators, and helpers; enforce shop-floor discipline, attendance, and duty allocation.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, production reports, defect sheets, and attendance registers (or enter daily logs into an ERP system).
• EHS & 5S Standards: Drive strict adherence to occupational safety guidelines, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, heat safety, and 5S housekeeping on the floor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Rubber Technology, Plastics Processing, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline (preferred). Higher Secondary with extensive practical experience will also be considered.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of supervisory experience in rubber compression moulding.
• Experience in footwear sole and rubber sheet manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with strong compression moulding experience from other rubber product sectors are also welcomed to apply.

Essential Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of compression moulding processes and vulcanization kinetics.
• Hands-on familiarity with Kneaders, Two-Roll Mills, Calenders, and Moulding Presses.
• Practical knowledge of handling coloured rubber formulations and controlling contamination (Preferred).
• Practical knowledge of colour matching of Rubber Compounds (Preferred).

Essential Soft & Administrative Skills

• Strong shop-floor leadership, communication, and labor handling abilities.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on target achievement and defect reduction.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Excel / Word or basic ERP entry for reporting).
• Understanding of workplace safety standards in high-heat industrial environments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Achievement of daily/weekly production volume targets.
• Reduction of scrap, rejection, and trim waste percentages.
• Minimization of machine downtime due to operational delays.
• Maintenance of zero contamination in coloured compound batches.
• Compliance with EHS and 5S cleanliness standards across the shift.

Candidates with prior experience in Manufacturing of Rubber Shoe Soles or degrees in Rubber Technology, Plastics Processing, Polymer Science and related disciplines will be given preference.

Location: Bhiwadi, Rajasthan

Salary: 25,000 per month (Negotiable for the right candidate based on experience and capability)

Shift: 12 Hours
