The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals & Societies (Geography) Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging, inquiry-driven, and concept-based learning environment that inspires students to explore the relationships between people, places, people, and the environment through the study of Geography . Rooted in the IB philosophy, the teacher designs meaningful learning experiences that develop geographical knowledge, critical thinking, environmental awareness, and global citizenship while fostering international-mindedness. The teacher encourages students to investigate contemporary global issues through multiple perspectives, make real-world connections, and develop the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills needed to become reflective, responsible, and lifelong learners.

The role also involves: Delivering high-quality MYP Geography lessons that promote inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world application. Designing authentic, criterion-based assessments aligned with the IB MYP assessment framework. Creating opportunities for fieldwork, geographical investigations, research, and the effective use of maps, GIS, and other geographical tools where appropriate. Contributing to curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning experiences, and departmental initiatives. Building positive partnerships with students, colleagues, and parents to support student achievement and well-being.
