Job Title PT Athletic Assistant (Golf) Agency Texas A&M International University Department Athletics Department Proposed Minimum Salary $14.43 hourly Job Location Laredo, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Job Summary The Athletic Assistant, under general supervision, provides a broad range of administrative support to the (designated sport) and provide assistance to the head coach in areas of team administration and management, including assisting with practice sessions and monitoring of student athlete’s progress. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the head coach with administrative responsibilities.
- Analyze and distribute video information.
- Coordinate and schedule practice sessions
- Assist with arrangements for team travel, hotel accommodation and other related needs.
- Updates various student athlete databases.
- Assists in recruiting efforts. Organizes on-campus visits by prospective student athletes. Provides tours of campus athletic facilities.
- Assists with summer camps.
- Assist the head coach in monitoring the eligibility of student athletes.
- Assist the head coach at practices and related responsibilities as needed.
- Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
- Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning the student-athletes: conduct, appearance, punctuality and other areas as deemed appropriate.
- Assists in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive public relations program.
- Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents, analyzing opponents’ film and scouting reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education – Bachelor's Degree in from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience – A minimum of one year previous high school or collegiate level coaching assistance experience or three years of a combination of coaching assistance and playing experience.
- May not be currently an undergrad student at Texas A&M International University.
- General knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
- Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
- Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
