Veterinary Technician (Experienced)

Location: Branford, CT Schedule: Full-Time | Weekday Schedule

Mill Pond Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dependable Veterinary Technician to join our established small animal practice. We believe in utilizing our technicians to the fullest, encouraging continued learning, and creating a workplace where collaboration and respect come first.

What You'll Do

As an important member of our clinical team, you'll help deliver outstanding medical care by:

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring anesthesia throughout procedures
  • Recovering surgical patients and providing attentive post-operative care
  • Performing venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics
  • Assisting with radiology and other diagnostic procedures
  • Monitoring hospitalized patients and documenting medical records accurately
  • Educating pet owners on medications, home care, and preventive medicine
  • Supporting daily treatment room operations while working closely with the veterinary team
What We're Looking For

We're interested in candidates who have:

  • CVT credential preferred; experienced veterinary technicians are welcome to apply
  • At least two years of experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Confidence with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
  • Strong patient handling and nursing skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to compassionate care
