Role Description This full-time, on-site Production Engineer – Injection Moulding role is based at Tremont Luggage Manufacturing Pvt Ltd’s manufacturing facility in Umargam. The Production Engineer will oversee daily injection moulding operations, including machine setup, parameter optimization, and monitoring production to meet quality and output targets. Responsibilities include troubleshooting process and equipment issues, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. The role involves working with mould design and tooling teams, conducting trials for new products, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Production Engineer will also analyze production data, support continuous improvement initiatives, train operators on best practices, and contribute to cost and waste reduction efforts.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, mould design basics, and plastic materials used in luggage or consumer goods manufacturing.
• Experience with production planning, line balancing, and monitoring key performance indicators such as cycle time, scrap rate, and machine efficiency.
• Skill in process optimization, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for production issues.
• Understanding of quality control methods, standard operating procedures, and compliance with safety and workplace regulations.
• Ability to read technical drawings, work with tooling and maintenance teams, and support mould trials and new product introduction.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide and train operators and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in injection moulding within a manufacturing environment; experience in luggage or consumer goods production is an advantage.
