He/she has to follow the set rules and standards of the University in the delivery of the program. He/she reports to the Dean/ Director of the school. He/she has the following duties and responsibilities. </p><p><br /></p><ul><li>To act as the administrative and academic head of the department in executing the teaching and learning aspects of the department. </li><li>To take advice/sanction from the dean for implementation of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. </li><li>To assign duties to teaching and non-teaching staff of the department in consultation with the dean/director. </li><li>To ensure allocation of workload (teaching load and practical load) to all faculty members and technical non-teaching staff with the help of the academic coordinator. </li><li>To co-ordinate with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department for smooth function of conduction of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the department. </li><li>To present the department/program budget/requirement to the dean. </li><li>To take the lesson plan from the faculty members and to ensure they follow the plan and syllabus is completed in the stipulated time. </li><li>To ensure smooth conduct of examinations including paper setting, assessment of theory and lab. </li><li>To ensure quality, maintenance and cleanliness of the department. </li><li>To forward leave applications of the departmental colleagues. </li><li>To motivate faculty towards research proposals to various research funding agencies. </li><li>To encourage research and innovative programs in the department. </li><li>To invite guest speakers for interaction and guidance to students. </li><li>To facilitate faculty in the preparation and processing of self-appraisal of performance. </li><li>To ensure that school/college equipment/facilities under the department's control are properly maintained and serviced as required. </li> </ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Experience Required: </b> </p><ul><li>15 - 20 yrs + preferred University / Industry experience. </li> </ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Education: </b> </p><ul><li>Master’s Degree or Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in Psychology. </li><li>Advance degree in relevant filed / Certification course. </li> </ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Skills Required: </b> </p><ul><li>Strong academic credentials required, Teaching and Research Experience (Management or related discipline), and Patents. </li><li>Leadership and Management Skills, Curriculum development, Accreditation Knowledge, Industry Connection, Communication, Interpersonal Skills and Networking skills. </li> </ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Department: </b>School of Liberal Studies </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Position Reports to: </b>Dean / Vice Chancellor </p>
