About the Role

Himalayan Institute of Nursing is inviting applications for the position of Associate Professor – Nursing. We are seeking experienced and motivated nursing educators who are committed to excellence in teaching, clinical education, research, and academic leadership.

The selected candidate will contribute to undergraduate nursing education while supporting institutional quality initiatives in accordance with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and affiliating university regulations.

Areas of Specialization

Medical Surgical Nursing Community Health Nursing Child Health Nursing Mental Health Nursing Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing Nursing Foundation Other Nursing specialties as per INC norms

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality theory, laboratory, simulation, and clinical teaching. Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching-learning activities in accordance with the prescribed curriculum. Mentor students in academic, clinical, and professional development. Coordinate clinical training with affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions. Participate in curriculum planning, academic committees, and quality assurance initiatives. Guide research activities, publications, seminars, workshops, and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programmes. Support accreditation processes, statutory inspections, and regulatory compliance. Maintain departmental documentation, academic records, and assessment reports. Collaborate with faculty members to strengthen teaching, research, and institutional development.

Required Qualifications

M. Sc. Nursing in the relevant specialty from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Valid registration with the respective State Nursing Council. Minimum experience prescribed for the post of Associate Professor under the latest INC regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph. D. in Nursing. Research publications in peer-reviewed or indexed journals. Experience with accreditation, regulatory compliance, and academic administration.

Skills & Competencies

Strong subject expertise and clinical knowledge. Excellent teaching, communication, and mentoring skills. Leadership and academic coordination abilities. Knowledge of nursing education standards, research methodology, and quality assurance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital learning platforms, and academic ERP systems.
