We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for our manufacturing facility in Long Island City, NY. Williams Valve is located at 3850 Review Avenue Long Island City, NY 11101.The Mazak CNC Programmer will program, set up, and operate CNC machinery while working closely with our manufacturing and quality teams to ensure components are produced accurately and efficiently.Experience with Mazak machines and programming is required.Williams Valve provides job-specific training, company uniforms, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals who have spent decades in the valve manufacturing industry.
ResponsibilitiesCreate, edit, and optimize CNC programs for machined valve componentsSet up and operate CNC lathes and related machining equipmentInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerancesSelect appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parametersPerform tool offsets, compensations, and program adjustmentsComplete first-piece inspections and verify parts meet specificationsTroubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issuesSet up and operate conventional mills and lathes as neededMaintain established quality and productivity standardsAssist with production and machining operations as necessaryCoordinate routine machine maintenanceMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety and quality procedures
QualificationsMinimum of three years of CNC programming and machining experienceExperience programming and setting up CNC lathesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specificationsKnowledge of tooling, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining processesExperience with conventional mills and lathesMazak machine and programming experience is requiredOkuma machine experience is a plusStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityDependable and able to work effectively as part of a manufacturing teamKnowledge of applicable machine-shop safety proceduresThis position involves access to export-controlled technical data.
