This position offers the opportunity for professional development, work that is challenging and impactful to the community and experience in a highly reputable nonprofit organization with significant revenues. Under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist will be responsible for processing, reconciling, tracking, and payment of all accounts payable. The AP Specialist will also assist with closing and audit activities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for processing accounts payable transactions timely, examining supporting documentation for accuracy, proper authorization, correct cost center, appropriate allocation, and issuing checks on a weekly basisMonitor and report on outstanding invoicesCommunicate and resolve discrepancies with vendor and internal customersReconcile all credit card accounts and process timely paymentsProcess benefit invoices and reconcile with payroll records EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business; extensive related work experience in accounting/accounts payable may be substituted accounts payable; grant funded nonprofit experience a plusAccounting background with a minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable; knowledge of full cycle accounts payable; grant funded nonprofit experience a plusProficient in computerized accounting systems, Excel and Word Total Package of BenefitsMedical/ Dental/ Vision - 95% paid by employerPet InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramVoluntary Life and AD
