Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent

Lead municipal and state infrastructure projects with one of Oklahoma's leading heavy civil contractors!

Tri-Star Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Civil Superintendents to lead field operations on concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and/or underground utility projects. We're looking for a safety-focused leader who can build high-performing crews, deliver quality work, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

What You'll Do

  • Lead heavy civil construction projects from planning through completion
  • Coordinate, lead and be responsible for daily production
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop field crews
  • Assist in coordinating subcontractors, equipment, and materials
  • Build and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Monitor project budgets, production, labor, and quantities to maximize profitability
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, specifications, and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, and timekeeping in HeavyJob software
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and project owners
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and job hazard reviews
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety standards
  • Identify and solve field issues while keeping projects moving forward

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience preferred
  • Previous experience leading crews and managing heavy civil projects
  • Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, or underground utilities
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction drawings
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, production tracking, quantities, budgets, and cost control
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing

Work Environment

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, kneeling, driving, lifting and extended periods on active construction sites
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
