We partner with high-growth organizations in the Real Estate, Mortgage, Private Lending, and Financial Services sectors, helping them scale operations through dedicated offshore teams. We are currently hiring for a US-based private lending and real estate investment client.
We are currently hiring an experienced Fund Controller to support, a U.S.-based private credit platform providing real estate financing solutions to investors nationwide — including fix & flip, bridge, DSCR/rental, multifamily, and new construction loans.
This role offers strong exposure to institutional-quality fund accounting, investment operations, portfolio reporting, investor communications, and financial governance across the firm's lending fund vehicles.
As Fund Controller, you will partner closely with senior leadership, investment professionals, asset managers, lenders, fund administrators, external auditors, tax advisors, and investors to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient fund operations, regulatory compliance, and sound financial controls throughout the investment lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead complete accounting and financial reporting activities for the fund
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports
- Review general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial records
- Ensure financial statements accurately reflect investment transactions, fund expenses, and partnership allocations
- Develop and maintain robust accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance procedures
Fund Operations
- Manage capital call and investor distribution processes for Limited Partners (LPs)
- Review investor capital accounts, commitment schedules, and ownership allocations
- Calculate management fees, preferred returns, and waterfall distributions in accordance with partnership agreements
- Coordinate fund cash movements, banking transactions, and investment settlements
- Monitor liquidity requirements and prepare fund cash flow forecasts
- Support fund launches, closings, and new investment structures
Investment & Portfolio Accounting
- Record loan originations, payoffs, refinancing transactions, and investment activity across the portfolio
- Partner with Investment and Asset Management teams to review portfolio performance and returns
- Support quarterly investment valuation processes
- Prepare investment performance reporting, including IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, and RVPI
- Analyze portfolio performance and provide meaningful financial insights to senior leadership
Investor Reporting
- Prepare quarterly and annual investor reporting packages
- Produce capital account statements and investor financial reports
- Coordinate investor requests and financial due diligence materials
- Support fundraising activities by preparing financial data and reporting packages
- Maintain accurate investor reporting calendars and communication schedules
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Coordinate annual fund audits with external auditors
- Support tax advisors with partnership tax reporting and investor tax documentation
- Ensure compliance with fund agreements and regulatory reporting requirements
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation
- Strengthen internal financial controls and continuously improve accounting processes
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor daily cash positions across investment entities
- Manage fund banking relationships and payment approvals
- Prepare cash forecasts supporting investment funding and operational requirements
- Ensure timely settlement of investment transactions and investor distributions
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- 7–10 years of experience in private lending, commercial real estate, fund administration, or alternative investments
- Strong knowledge of partnership accounting, private credit fund structures, and investment accounting
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
- Experience with fund accounting or loan servicing platforms (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of: Fund Accounting, Capital Calls, Investor Distributions, Waterfall Calculations, Portfolio Valuation, Financial Reporting, Cash Management, Internal Controls
