Warehouse FloaterWarehouse employees are important members of the ABC team, who make sure that product is ready for shipment to our 130+ stores. Team members work in a physically demanding environment where meeting productivity standards and safety standards are required. The Warehouse Floater is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse duties including shipping, receiving and humidor as well as being able to serve as Order Selector, Forklift Operator, Loader, and/or Picker/Packer when needed. The position is physically demanding and includes driving forklift and other equipment.The hours of this position are: Monday - Thursday 6:30am – 5:00pm. End times may vary due to needs of the business.Specific Job ResponsibilitiesServes as a floater in all areas of the ABC warehouse/distribution centerAnticipates and observes needs and "jumps in" as needed in various departments during work shiftLiaisons with warehouse team leader to communicate observed needs in the warehouse and respond to changing needs as neededEnsure deliveries are completed in a timely manner and verifies loads with shipping documentsInspects the shipping areas to ensure quality standards are being metAssists the shipping team leader by reviewing and adjusting the needs of production for each individual shipping areaOperates a forklift, stock picker or turret truck to assist in the movement of product throughout the distribution center, when assistance is neededAssists and trains new team members as needed upon request of supervisorInspects the warehouse for safety standards, such as reviewing that all areas are free from obstacles that may hinder the safe operation of the facilityServes as a senior team member, able to work in multiple departmentsOther duties as assigned by your supervisorWarehouse Responsibilities – All EmployeesFollow all ABC safety protocolsPromptly report and clean up spills, breakage or other issuesLift 35-50-pound cases, sometimes a hundred times a dayStand on feet for 10+ hours a dayMaintain minimum productivity standards per departmentAssemble boxes for spilt case lineClean, sanitize, and keep warehouse tidyPrepare work area for next day, including charging equipment and organizing areaOther duties as assigned by your department leader.Job RequirementsMinimum Experience, Skills, and EducationJob Specific Requirements5+ years proven work experience in a warehouse environmentExpertise in warehouse procedures and best practicesMust be a team player, including the ability to communicate well with othersMust be able to work independently with little supervisionStrong knowledge of AS400 Warehouse SystemsMust be able to work a full-time schedule, with occasional nights and weekends during busy seasons.
