Accountant Company: Superior Grouting Location: Houston, TX On-site Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Compensation: $24 - $28 DOE Position Overview Superior Grouting is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accountant to manage daily financial operations and keep company accounts running smoothly. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with strong proficiency in QuickBooks who can handle end-to-end accounting tasks, from invoicing and vendor management to reconciliations and financial reporting. We offer a flexible schedule with options for either full-time or part-time employment. Key Responsibilities QuickBooks Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, charts of accounts, and financial transactions daily within QuickBooks. Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and send timely invoices, track outstanding payments, follow up on collections, and process incoming payments. Accounts Payable (AP): Review, code, and process vendor bills, subcontractor invoices, and expense receipts; ensure payments are issued accurately and on time. Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for all company bank accounts, credit cards, and line-of-credit accounts. Job Costing & Project Tracking: Assign revenues and expenses to specific job sites to help track project profitability and operational efficiency. Payroll Processing: Process routine employee payroll, manage payroll tax withholdings, and track PTO/paid leave accurately. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial summaries (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow reports) for leadership. Tax Preparation Support: Organize and compile financial documentation to coordinate with the company's external CPA for year-end tax filings. Qualifications & Skills Experience: 2-5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience. Software: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) is required; comfortable with Microsoft Excel (formulas, data sorting, reporting). Industry Experience: Background in construction, specialty contracting, or trade services is strongly preferred. Accounting Knowledge: Solid grasp of general accounting principles, job-costing methods, AP/AR workflows, and financial statements. Attributes: High level of accuracy, strong problem-solving skills, discrete with sensitive financial information, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
