We're Hiring: Microsoft Purview Data Protection & Insider Risk Management Consultant

Are you passionate about helping organizations protect sensitive information, manage insider risks, and strengthen their data governance strategy? We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Data Protection & Insider Risk Management Consultant to join our growing cybersecurity and compliance practice.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Lead requirements discovery workshops, policy design, and implementation for Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management (IRM) use cases.

✅ Develop and execute Sensitivity Labeling strategies , including taxonomy design, default and recommended labeling, auto-labeling, and lifecycle governance.

✅ Drive pilot deployments and optimize Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, and DLP policies .

✅ Assess and fine-tune Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to improve protection effectiveness while minimizing business impact.

✅ Analyze Insider Risk Management alerts, reduce false positives, optimize risk indicators, and establish monitoring and incident response procedures.

✅ Develop governance frameworks and create technical, operational, adoption, rollout, and executive-level documentation.

✅ Collaborate with business, compliance, privacy, and security stakeholders to align data protection initiatives with organizational objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Data Protection, Information Security, Privacy, or Microsoft Security & Compliance solutions

Strong expertise in Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management , including policy design, alert investigation, risk indicators, tuning, and use case implementation

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection , Sensitivity Labels , and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) across Microsoft 365 environments

Experience conducting stakeholder workshops, gathering requirements, assessing security and compliance risks, and developing solution architectures

Strong analytical, communication, documentation, governance, rollout, and adoption management skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with Proofpoint Information Protection, Email Security, DLP, Insider Threat Management , or similar security solutions

Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps , Microsoft Defender for Endpoint , and related Microsoft Security technologies

Understanding of privacy and compliance frameworks including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and NIST Privacy Framework

Experience with enterprise-wide data classification, records management, and information governance programs

Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate (SC-400 )

Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100 )

Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200 )

Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP )

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP )
