POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced, bilingual General Manager or Assistant Manager to oversee restaurant operations and support the continued success of our team. The ideal candidate will have previous restaurant management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to balance daily operational responsibilities with administrative duties.
The successful candidate will help ensure smooth restaurant operations, maintain high standards of customer service and food quality, supervise employees, and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Restaurant Operations & Management
• Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and consistent service.• Maintain company standards for food quality, cleanliness, presentation, and customer service.• Monitor restaurant performance and address operational issues promptly.• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.• Monitor employee productivity and ensure appropriate staffing levels.• Enforce company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and overall restaurant performance.
Employee Supervision & Leadership
• Supervise, lead, and motivate employees to maintain a productive and professional work environment.• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.• Prepare and manage employee schedules based on business needs.• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and employee performance.• Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues professionally.• Provide coaching and feedback to improve employee performance.• Hold team members accountable for following company policies and procedures.• Communicate staffing needs and operational updates to upper management.
Customer Service & Guest Relations
• Ensure guests receive excellent service and a positive dining experience.• Address customer complaints and resolve service issues promptly.• Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve service.• Ensure employees maintain professional conduct and customer service standards.
Inventory, Food Costs & Vendor Coordination
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure supplies are adequately stocked.• Coordinate ordering of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.• Monitor food waste, portion control, and product usage to help control costs.• Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.• Communicate with vendors regarding deliveries, shortages, and order discrepancies.• Monitor food costs, labor costs, and other operating expenses.• Identify and report inventory discrepancies or potential losses.
Administrative & Computer Responsibilities
• Complete daily reports, operational checklists, and required documentation.• Maintain accurate employee schedules, records, and restaurant paperwork as assigned.• Use Microsoft Excel to enter data, update spreadsheets, organize information, and prepare basic reports.• Use Microsoft Word to create, edit, and format documents.• Use email and other computer programs to communicate and submit reports.• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized electronic and paper files.• Assist with reviewing sales reports, labor hours, inventory records, and other operational data.• Ensure reports and documentation are completed within established deadlines.• Communicate regularly with upper management regarding restaurant performance, staffing, and operational needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.• Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience is required.• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and manage employees.• Understanding of daily restaurant operations and customer service standards.• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email, and data entry.• Ability to type accurately and maintain organized records.• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.• Professionalism, reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience managing employee schedules, staffing, and labor costs.• Experience with inventory management, purchasing, and food cost control.• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and sales reporting.• Experience preparing operational reports and maintaining business documentation.• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.• Experience with cash handling, sales reconciliation, and restaurant opening and closing procedures.
