We are looking for a Senior Supply Chain / Production Planning professional who can take ownership of production planning and execution across Frido's 3P (third-party manufacturing) ecosystem .

The Role

The role will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, capacity planning and manufacturing coordination across Frido's 3P manufacturing partners .

This person will act as the bridge between Demand Planning, Procurement, 3P Manufacturers, Quality, Warehousing and Business teams , ensuring that the right products are manufactured at the right time, in the right quantities and at the right cost .

The ideal candidate should be highly data-driven, comfortable working with multiple manufacturing partners and capable of balancing forecast, inventory, capacity, material availability and service levels .

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Own the monthly, weekly and daily production planning for 3P manufacturing partners.
  • Translate demand forecasts and inventory requirements into executable production plans.
  • Develop SKU-level production schedules based on:
  • Demand
  • Inventory levels
  • Manufacturing capacity
  • Lead times
  • Material availability
  • Customer service requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to production plans and proactively identify deviations.
  • Drive production plan revisions based on changes in demand, supply constraints or business priorities.

2. 3P Manufacturing Management

  • Manage production planning and execution across a portfolio of third-party manufacturers.
  • Establish production commitments and timelines with manufacturing partners.
  • Track Plan vs Actual (PVA) production performance.
  • Identify bottlenecks and drive corrective actions with vendors.
  • Build strong operating rhythms with 3P partners through regular reviews and performance dashboards.
  • Work with manufacturers to improve capacity utilization, productivity and adherence to committed schedules .

3. Capacity Planning

  • Build and maintain SKU/category-wise and vendor-wise capacity plans .
  • Map available vs required manufacturing capacity based on demand forecasts.
  • Identify future capacity constraints and initiate mitigation plans.
  • Work with vendors on:
  • Capacity augmentation
  • Line balancing
  • Shift planning
  • Outsourcing opportunities
  • Alternate manufacturing arrangements.
  • Support onboarding and capacity assessment of new manufacturing partners.

4. Material & Supply Readiness

  • Coordinate closely with Procurement and suppliers to ensure RM/PM availability for planned production.
  • Identify material shortages that could impact production schedules.
  • Develop a clear view of material readiness vs production requirements .
  • Escalate and resolve supply constraints proactively.
  • Work with Procurement and vendors to reduce material-related production downtime.

5. Inventory & Supply Planning

  • Balance production requirements against inventory health and working capital objectives .
  • Monitor:
  • FG inventory
  • WIP
  • RM/PM inventory
  • Inventory cover
  • Slow-moving inventory
  • Stock-outs.
  • Drive production decisions that minimize both stock-outs and excess inventory .
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning to translate changing demand signals into production actions.

6. Cross-functional Coordination

Work closely with:

Demand Planning → Procurement → Product → Quality → 3P Manufacturing → Warehousing → Logistics → Finance → Sales/D2C

to ensure seamless execution of the supply plan.

  • Participate in S&OP / supply review meetings.
  • Highlight supply risks and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Ensure production priorities are aligned with business priorities.

7. Process Excellence & Systems

  • Develop standardized production planning processes across 3P partners.
  • Build dashboards and MIS for production and supply performance.
  • Improve planning accuracy and reduce manual planning interventions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digitization of planning processes.
  • Establish SOPs for production planning, vendor scheduling and capacity management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing ecosystem.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

  • 6–10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning or Operations.
  • Strong experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment .
  • Hands-on experience managing 3P / contract / outsourced manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Experience handling multiple manufacturing partners/vendors .
  • Strong understanding of:
  • MRP
  • Production planning
  • Capacity planning
  • Material planning
  • Inventory management
  • S&OP
  • Vendor management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience in D2C / consumer products / retail / e-commerce .
  • Experience with fast-moving SKU portfolios .
  • Exposure to footwear, apparel, lifestyle, consumer durables, furniture, plastics, accessories or other consumer product manufacturing .
  • Experience working in a startup / high-growth environment .
  • Experience setting up planning processes from scratch.
  • Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement .
