Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, delivery-focused Project Manager with strong Risk domain expertise to support a global Risk transformation portfolio. The role involves leading multiple workstreams across regulatory, strategic, and incremental change initiatives within Market Risk and/or Counterparty Credit Risk.

The successful candidate will drive end-to-end delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

  • Define, agree, and manage project scope with senior stakeholders across the lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain robust, defensible project plans , incorporating all resources and dependencies.
  • Lead multiple concurrent workstreams , ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Establish clear success criteria and KPIs for each phase and track progress against them.
  • Monitor cross-project dependencies and proactively manage risks and issues.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, standards, and protocols .

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders, business users, IT, and global teams .
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Lead governance forums and executive updates with concise, impactful communication .
  • Escalate critical risks and ensure timely resolution in alignment with leadership .

Risk Domain & Business Engagement

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of front-to-back risk processes .
  • Translate regulatory requirements into clear business deliverables.
  • Act as a business gatekeeper , ensuring issues raised to IT are well-defined and prioritized.
  • Collaborate with business, BA, and IT teams to ensure accurate requirements capture and delivery .
  • Drive synergies across risk initiatives and promote consistency in approach.

Continuous Improvement & Team Leadership

  • Mentor and support delivery teams to ensure high performance and accountability .
  • Conduct retrospective reviews to improve delivery quality, efficiency, and cadence.
  • Promote best practices across project management and risk initiatives.
  • Work closely with global teams (Business, BA, IT, QA, Development) throughout the lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Project/Program Management within:
  • Market Risk
  • Counterparty Credit Risk
  • Risk Technology / Regulatory Programs
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stream projects end-to-end .
  • Experience in regulatory initiatives and risk system implementations .

Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Market Risk / Credit Risk metrics , such as:
  • VaR, Expected Shortfall, IRC
  • PD, LGD, EAD
  • PFE, EEPE, Exposure metrics
  • RWA, Stress Testing, Settlement Risk
  • Knowledge of credit risk data flows, architecture, and risk limits .
  • Familiarity with credit risk regulatory capital frameworks .

Technical & Tools Expertise

  • Proficient in project tools:
  • MS Project (MPP)
  • JIRA
  • Confluence
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Core Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills .
  • Ability to translate complex concepts for senior management .
  • Expertise in requirements elicitation and translation into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Experience in defining testing strategies, test plans, and coordination .
  • Adaptable to both Agile and Waterfall methodologies .
  • High attention to detail, quality, and delivery timelines .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications:
  • PMP / PRINCE2
  • Agile / Scrum Master
  • FRM / MBA (Finance/Risk preferred)
  • Experience managing global teams and cross-border projects .
