Location: Greater Chicago Area Compensation: $70,000-$85,000 DOE + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data. Assist with payroll-related accounting and invoice processing. Prepare financial reports and support budgeting activities. Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or variances. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Maintain accurate accounting records within ERP and financial systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Minimum 3 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP principles. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment. xzbcwsv Experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or other ERP/accounting software is preferred.
