Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week (Part-time and PRN also available)

Shift: Days (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) or Nights (7:00 pm - 7:00 am) available

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Skills required to work in the emergency department as defined by unit

Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes

Basic computer skills must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs

Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, knowledge, and skills

Able to navigate and manage multiple priorities

Uses independent discretion/decision-making

Able to make decisions under pressure

Manages anger/fear/hostility

Manages stress appropriately

Works alone effectively

Able to work effectively in close proximity to others and/or in a distracting environment

Works with others effectively

Fluent in the English language (spoken and written)

Education:

Associate's of Nursing [Required]

Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:
  • One (1) or more years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care hospital setting in a Progressive Care Unit

Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) [Preferred]

Chemotherapy Certificate (CHEMO) [Preferred]
