It deploys the firm's capital, alongside that of a select set of leading institutional and private investors. Five Arrows has over $30bn under management and manages a series of funds dedicated to corporate and secondary private equity, multi-managers funds and co-investments as well as liquid and private credit. Overview of Role Five Arrows has grown rapidly, from €2 billion in assets under management in 2010 to more than €30 billion today, and is looking for an Associate to join the investment team of Five Arrows Secondary Opportunities ("FASO"). FASO is a specialist in the direct secondaries market with a long-standing history and expertise in Europe and an expanding operation in the U.S. The fund’s investment strategy targets small and mid-cap GP-led transactions and covers the entire spectrum of the private equity asset class, including buyout, expansion capital and growth equity transactions, with an emphasis on healthcare, technology and business services. The Investment Associate role demands excellent communications skills, strong analytical insight and financial modeling capabilities, creativity in accessing and processing information, the ability to balance multiple workstreams, but most importantly, the ability to work effectively in a cross-border collaborative environment and a passion for private equity investing. Responsibilities
- Work on lean deal teams to perform due diligence of investment opportunities, including conducting market and company research, formulating valuation analyses, creating, running and managing financial models, and developing balanced, fact-based investment recommendations
- Prepare and present investment memorandums, summarizing key diligence findings and financial analyses, and partake in diligence discussions and investment committee meetings
- Actively participate in meetings with general partners, company management teams, advisors, and industry experts to source and evaluate investment opportunities and develop market insights
- Monitor the investment performance of the FASO portfolio and assist with reporting needs to limited partners of the fund
- Strong fundamental knowledge of accounting and corporate finance
- Robust analytical and quantitative skills, including substantial experience in company and industry research, financial statement analysis, financial modeling and valuation
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Comfort with or willingness to develop proficiency with cutting-edge financial tools, including AI
- Ability to comprehend new business models, markets, and companies and identify key considerations with guidance from senior investment professionals
- Results-oriented personality, strong judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively, both verbally and through written communication
- Proven ability to successfully multi-task, along with strong attention to detail
- Intellectually curious, proactive, innovative, creative and forward thinking
