Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, secure, optimize, and support the organization's database infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS RDS , with Oracle exposure being an added advantage. The incumbent will be responsible for database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, disaster recovery readiness, automation, and infrastructure governance while working closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Information Security, and Application teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS RDS, and Oracle databases, including installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and security management.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, capacity planning, and resource utilization analysis.
• Manage AWS RDS environments, backups, snapshots, security configurations, migrations, and cost optimization.
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and data protection strategies to meet RPO and RTO objectives.
• Own Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity processes, including replication, clustering, failover testing, and DR drills.
• Implement database security controls, auditing, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and support compliance requirements.
• Develop monitoring mechanisms, operational dashboards, reports, SOPs, and drive automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Application teams on deployments, migrations, modernization projects, and act as an escalation point for critical database incidents.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise production databases and high-availability environments.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted databases, particularly AWS RDS.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft SQL Server Certifications
• PostgreSQL Administration Certifications
• AWS Database Specialty / AWS Associate Certifications
• MySQL Database Administration Certifications
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Technical Skills

Mandatory: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS RDS, performance tuning, HA/DR solutions, backup and recovery, replication technologies, database security, SQL scripting, capacity planning, monitoring, migrations, and Windows/Linux environments.

Preferred: Oracle administration, Shell/PowerShell/Python scripting, AWS services, infrastructure monitoring tools, DevOps concepts, and database automation.

Desired Competencies

Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, deep understanding of database architecture and performance engineering, ownership mindset, incident management capabilities, effective documentation, collaboration, and a proactive approach toward operational excellence.

Working Conditions

Participation in maintenance activities, upgrades, migrations, DR exercises, and on-call support for business-critical database platforms. Availability outside standard business hours may be required for major incidents and recovery operations.
