Patients Accounts Manager

A member of the revenue cycle process, Patients Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing all staff under the Patient Accounts Director including Billing, Denial/Follow-Up, Cash Management, and Correspondence Team.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure compliance with payer rules and regulations.Billing various payers including Medicare, Commercial, and MedicaidPerform routine follow-up on Outstanding AR and Cash Management TeamAssign and control the workflow of a supervised unit.Monitor the Spv Snr HCI, Senior HCIs, and Coordinating Manager team productivity.Review of accounts for accuracy and completeness.Monitor and documenting Spv. Snr. HCI and Coordinating Manager with time/leave issues.Communication with other departments: Central Office, Utilization Management, Medical Records, Patient Access, Registration, etc. to resolve DNB and denial issuesAssist in the training and skills development of new staff and current staff as needed.Assignment of special projects with: UM, Managed Care, Special Audits, Rehab, Rad. Onc, HIM, Phycare, etc.CMS AuditsProcess refunds to insurance companiesWeekly meeting with Patient Accounts / Follow-up Manager and or Director to review the work for the week, discuss team productivity.Review and work appropriate accounts to maximize A/R reduction and minimize write-offs.Review payer denials and underpayments and work to resolution.Attend all necessary training sessions to effectively perform the day-to-day functions of the position.Perform all other duties as assigned the DirectorProgressively discipline staff and attend to Labor issuesPromote a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace which enhance and further the Mission, Vision and Value Statements.Meet all compliance standard/requirements such as annual physical evaluation/assessments/mandatory in service and customer service.Demonstrate an awareness of all organization’s Safety Plans.Participate in Performance Improvement Activities.Maintain professional attire in the workplace, as well as off-site when conducting business on behalf of the NYC Health+Hospitals.Demonstrate an acceptable level of professional development through attendance at outside and NYC Health+Hospitals.Take all necessary actions to ensure a safe environment.Secure patient records to assure confidentiality of information. xzbcwsv Exhibit flexibility as it pertains to work assignment, workplace site designation and tour of duty.
