Senior Tax Analyst

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking to fill a Senior Tax Analyst position for a well-established organization in the Triad area of North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive tax experience, including hands-on preparation of federal and multi-state income tax returns, along with a strong foundation in tax accounting and compliance. This opportunity offers exposure to tax planning, process improvement, technology initiatives, and a broad range of federal, state, and local tax matters.

Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax returns, including estimated tax calculations and payments.Complete monthly income tax provision work under IFRS and maintain associated general ledger tax accounts.Support tax accrual forecasting used in budgeting and broader financial planning.Reconcile and maintain tax-related assets and depreciation activity.Research federal, state, and local tax issues and provide guidance to internal business partners.Assist with complex matters involving income, franchise, sales, property, and payroll taxes.Research tax regulations and help translate applicable requirements into practical guidance for the business.Respond to correspondence and notices from taxing authorities.Provide support during tax audits and internal-control reviews.Participate in tax research initiatives, special projects, process improvements, and technology enhancements
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.5+ years of progressive tax experience gained within public accounting and/or a multi-state corporate environment.Direct experience preparing U.S. federal and state income tax returns.Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and successfully manage multiple projects.Familiarity with tax research platforms such as Checkpoint and BNA is preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
