Clinical Lab Animal Veterinarian

CLINICAL LAB ANIMAL VETERINARIAN The University of Alabama at Birmingham General Responsibilities\: To provide clinical and surgical medical care of animals (multi-species) used in research and training. To support health surveillance and preventative medicine programs, and to participate in teaching and training of departmental personnel and research staff. To review animal use requests for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and Animal Welfare regulations. To supervise veterinary staff members and provide emergency veterinary care. To participate in all activities that are part of a dynamic laboratory animal care and use program including research, grant writing, equipment and process evaluation, tours and the development of standard operating procedures.
