About the Role
We are looking for a Deputy Education Director – Standards V to X to provide academic and educational leadership across Aseema’s schools in Mumbai and Igatpuri.
The role will be responsible for strengthening the quality and effectiveness of the education programme across Academic, Co-curricular, Remedial and Special Education, with a strong focus on curriculum development, teacher capacity-building, school quality, student learning outcomes and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced education professional with a deep understanding of teaching and learning, strong academic leadership skills, and the ability to translate educational vision into effective practice across schools.
Key responsibilities :
1. Educational Programme Development
· To be thorough in and work in accordance with Aseema’s education approach, vision, mission, goals and actions.
· Develop educational programmes that align with the organization's mission and goals and that meet state and national standards.
· Ensure that the potential of every child is tapped to its fullest and that the children do not drop out of school.
· Periodically and systematically revise curricula.
2. Academic Leadership & Programme Implementation
· Oversee the implementation of the educational programmes including Special Education and Remedial.
· Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff in the implementation of the programmes.
· Set clear goals for the team to effectively monitor school and student outcomes and act to improve school quality.
· Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to ensure ongoing improvement in their teaching practice.
3. Evaluating Educational Programmes:
· Oversee the evaluation of the educational programmes and teachers and staff to assess their effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
· Guide in monitoring and evaluating children’s outcomes and data analysis.
4. School Quality & Educational Systems
· Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and best practices in education.
· Study existing Education systems and monitor the progress of new and existing teaching methods.
· Collaborate with the Sectional heads to develop policies and procedures related to education.
· Participate in school recruitment and vetting of prospective teachers.
· Foster a healthy environment for teachers and students at schools.
· Travel for external training as and when required.
· Participate in meetings/events related to education/the social sector that will be beneficial to Aseema.
Qualifications & Experience
· A degree in education or a related field.
· At least 5 years of experience in educational leadership.
· Proactive, mature, demonstrated success in developing and implementing educational programmes and initiatives.
· Knowledge of curriculum development, teacher training, and programme evaluation.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills.
· A clear thinker with a deep interest in education.
· Proficient with MS office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
