A stable, family-owned water treatment and chemical manufacturingcompany is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its headquarters finance team in Doral, FL. This is a succession-planning hire with a long-term path to Controller over the next several years.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants to step into a visible, hands-on leadership role within a stable and growing business. The company has been operating for 70+ years, generates over $200M in annual revenue, and supports multiple manufacturing facilities and legal entities across Florida and the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
Support full-cycle accounting across approximately 10-12 legal entities, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closePrepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial resultsWork closely with the Controller, CFO, and senior leadership on reporting, financial analysis, process improvement, and accounting operationsPartner with manufacturing, distribution, and operational teams to understand business drivers and improve financial visibilitySupport AP, AR, inventory accounting, internal controls, ERP processes, and accounting team workflowsHelp lead and develop members of the accounting team while building toward future Controller-level responsibilitiesAssist with special projects, reporting enhancements, and broader business initiatives as the company continues to grow
Qualifications
8+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA strongly preferred; strong academic background and comparable experience will be consideredStrong full-cycle accounting background with a clear understanding of how an accounting department operatesExperience managing accounting activity across multiple entities, business units, locations, or similarly complex operationsStrong knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, close processes, and internal controlsERP experience required; Acumatica experience is a plusManufacturing, chemical, distribution, transportation, inventory accounting, or multi-location operating experience is a plus, but not requiredPrior management experience or demonstrated ability to lead and develop a teamStrong longevity, progression, ownership, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a hands-on environment
