Senior Project Engineer – Design Management & Technical Coordination

Location: Mumbai (Office Based)

AAD Consultants (AADC) is a leading multidisciplinary Architectural & Engineering consultancy delivering Corporate, Institutional, Industrial and Research facilities across India.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Design Management team and act as the Project Director's Representative on large multidisciplinary projects. The role demands strong engineering knowledge, exceptional coordination skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with consultants, clients and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

  • Study and understand the Client Brief, project objectives and design intent.
  • Develop engineering and planning strategies to support the Architectural Design Team.
  • Prepare comprehensive design inputs, technical concepts and engineering recommendations for further development by the design team.
  • Review architectural layouts, engineering inputs and multidisciplinary design submissions.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, value engineering and improved constructability.

Project Management & Technical Coordination

  • Prepare and monitor project execution plans and design programmes.
  • Coordinate with Structural, MEP, BIM, Liasoning and Specialist Consultants.
  • Interface with Proof Checkers, Peer Review Consultants and Client-appointed agencies.
  • Resolve multidisciplinary coordination issues and monitor project milestones.
  • Ensure timely completion of all design deliverables.

Structural & Technical Review

  • Review structural concepts and engineering inputs for coordination with architectural requirements.
  • Coordinate with Structural Consultants on design development, proof checking and technical clarifications.
  • Work closely with the design team to integrate engineering solutions into the architectural design.

Shop Drawings & Construction Documentation

  • Review contractor and vendor shop drawings for coordination, constructability and compliance with the design intent.
  • Coordinate technical reviews with Architectural, Structural and MEP Consultants.
  • Monitor closure of review comments and approval timelines.

Tendering & Contract Administration

  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
  • Prepare Tender Documents, Technical Specifications and Special Conditions of Contract.
  • Assist in technical bid evaluation and contractor clarifications.
  • Coordinate procurement documentation and tender processes.

Documentation & Commercial Coordination

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, trackers and registers.
  • Review and validate Minutes of Meetings (MoMs) issued by the PMC.
  • Track project actions until closure.
  • Coordinate fee milestones, invoice submissions and payment follow-ups.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
  • 10–12 years' experience in structural design, multidisciplinary building projects or engineering consultancy.
  • Experience working on Corporate Offices, Institutional, Industrial or Research Facilities will be preferred.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary consultant coordination and design management.
  • Experience in preparing BoQs, Tender Documents and Contract Documentation.
  • Experience in reviewing multidisciplinary construction documentation and shop drawings.
  • Experience working with Proof Checkers and Independent Technical Review Consultants will be an advantage.
  • Experience in Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects is highly preferred.


Technical Skills

The candidate should possess thorough working knowledge of:

  • ETABS
  • STAAD.Pro / STRUDS
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit / BIM workflows
  • Microsoft Project (preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of structural design principles, steel structures and multidisciplinary coordination is essential.
