Job Description – Endoscopy In-Charge / Endoscopy Nurse In-Charge

Position: Endoscopy In-Charge

Department: Endoscopy

Location: Continental Hospitals, Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Endoscopy Unit , ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
• Handle patient preparation, pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure care .
• Coordinate and assist doctors during various endoscopic procedures.
• Ensure proper patient identification, consent, documentation and safety protocols .
• Manage the endoscopy procedure room, equipment and accessories , ensuring readiness before every procedure.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment as per hospital protocols.
• Maintain adequate availability of consumables, instruments and emergency equipment .
• Coordinate with Consultants, Anesthesia, Nursing, CSSD, OT and other support departments .
• Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient records and daily activity reports.
• Monitor infection-control practices and maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care .
• Manage and guide the Endoscopy nursing team, including duty allocation, training and performance monitoring .
• Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, NABH standards and infection-control guidelines .
• Handle patient/attendant queries and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Monitor scheduling and utilization of the Endoscopy Unit and minimize delays in procedures.
• Report any equipment issues, incidents or operational concerns to the concerned authority.

Candidate Profile

• B.Sc Nursing / GNM with relevant Endoscopy experience.
• Prior experience working as an Endoscopy Nurse is mandatory.
• Should have strong hands-on knowledge of endoscopy procedures, patient management and endoscopy equipment .
• Should be capable of independently managing the Endoscopy Unit and nursing team .
• Good communication, coordination and leadership skills.
• Experience in a hospital/tertiary care setup preferred.
• Relevant Endoscopy experience: 7+ years preferred.
