- Oversee guarantee invoicing and reporting, adhering to loan accounting controls.
- Resolve intricate commitment and loan-related data issues.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries, including those from auditors.
- Evaluate current loan accounting workflows, reconciliations, and close processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and manual workarounds.
- Design and implement process improvements, including streamlined reconciliations, standardized templates, and automation opportunities in Excel and the loan sub-ledger.
- Document revised procedures, desk guides, and control narratives to support consistency and audit readiness.
- Partner with accounting, operations, and IT stakeholders to drive adoption of improved processes.
- Deliver recommendations and a transition plan so improvements are sustained after the engagement ends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA a plus.
- Five or more years of accounting experience, with a focus on loans.
- Experience in financial institutions strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of process improvement, whether through consulting, Big 4, or internal transformation work.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and critical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
- Proficiency in general ledger and sub-ledger systems, along with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to independently gather, consolidate, and analyze accounting data.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including documenting processes for others.
- Strong team and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Available to start immediately.
