EFU Life Assurance Ltd. is seeking an experienced Executive Officer specializing in Risk Strategy and Oversight within Enterprise Risk Management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in risk management, particularly within financial institutions or consultancy settings, and possess at least 4 years of relevant experience. This role focuses on developing and maintaining comprehensive risk frameworks and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance and risk appetite statements. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as actuarial sciences, risk management, economics, statistics, or finance, with a preference for candidates possessing an FRM qualification or having completed at least level 1 of the FRM program. The Executive Officer will work independently without direct team management responsibilities but will play a key role in coordinating with various business units and support functions to uphold risk governance across the organization.This position involves critical oversight of operational risk frameworks, proactive monitoring and mitigation of risks, and maintaining accurate risk registers and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). The officer ensures timely reporting of risk breaches to relevant forums and tracks management actions addressing key risks until completion. Strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities are essential, alongside the capacity to investigate risk incidents thoroughly and foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance throughout EFU Life Assurance Ltd.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the risk appetite statement, ensuring timely identification and reporting of any breaches to appropriate forums.
• Design, maintain, and continuously improve the operational risk framework to align with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive risk registers that document and update risks identified across all business units and support departments.
• Develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and establish effective processes for ongoing risk monitoring to proactively identify emerging risk trends.
• Ensure that all operational incidents and risk events are promptly logged, investigated, and analyzed in collaboration with business and support functions.
• Oversee the progress of risk mitigation actions, ensuring that management responses are tracked and completed to address key risks effectively.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and risk governance committees to support risk management initiatives and ensure transparent risk communication.
• Support adherence to regulatory and compliance standards by embedding risk management principles throughout business processes.
• Conduct risk assessments regularly and assist in preparing risk reports that provide insights and recommendations for senior management decision-making.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk management best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging industry trends to enhance the risk management framework.
