Job Description




Omaha Track Weld is currently seeking a highly skilled Shop Technician to work at the Kansas City Equipment Production Shop. Technician will be responsible for fabrication, repair, and servicing Rail Welding and other Railroad Maintenance of Way equipment. At Omaha Track Weld we design and build equipment used in the production of Continuous Welded Rail. We produce and support a wide array of heavy industrial equipment. Major Areas of Responsibility: Major Areas of Responsibility
• Assemble a variety of machines, including components such as motors, pumps, valves, and other mechanical parts.
• Route electrical conduit and wire to components as part of the assembly process.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
• Perform quality checks of finished equipment or systems as required.
• Complete and maintain associated paperwork and checklists for each project.
• Skid/crate equipment for shipping.
• Maintain the physical condition of the production area and machinery, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness by observing 5S procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment in all areas; attend daily safety briefings. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical/trade education is preferred
• Experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines: Heavy Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, and Welding
• Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Valid driver’s license required (must not have any major driving offenses within the last three years)

• Able to change easily from one task to another of a different nature and deal with competing demands
• Able to prioritize workload and tasks and take initiative.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a diverse group
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, subject to all elements and conditions
• Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to lifting (up to 50lbs), sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders
• Able to work overtime when demand requires
