Job Description – Accountant (Tally & GST) Position: Accountant Experience: 3–4 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Chennai Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong hands-on knowledge of Tally, purchase accounting, GST , and day-to-day financial operations. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, processing purchase entries, handling GST-related activities, and supporting the finance team with regular reporting and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Maintain day-to-day accounting records in Tally ERP/Tally Prime. Record and verify purchase invoices, sales invoices, expenses, receipts, and payments. Handle purchase accounting, including invoice verification and vendor entries. Maintain accounts payable and vendor ledgers. Perform bank, vendor, and ledger reconciliations. Prepare and maintain GST-related records and documentation. Assist with GST return preparation and filing, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. Verify GSTIN, tax rates, HSN/SAC codes, and input tax credit (ITC) eligibility. Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records and identify discrepancies. Coordinate with vendors regarding invoice and GST-related discrepancies. Maintain proper documentation for audits and statutory requirements. Assist in monthly closing and preparation of accounting reports. Support the senior finance team with other accounting and GST-related activities. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience. Strong practical knowledge of Tally ERP/Tally Prime. Good knowledge of GST and taxation basics. Hands-on experience in purchase accounting and vendor reconciliation. Knowledge of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and ITC reconciliation. Good knowledge of MS Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Candidate Candidates with experience in GST compliance, purchase accounting, Tally, vendor management, and reconciliation will be preferred.
