Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Teams Phone & Telephony Migration Engineer to lead and execute enterprise telephony migrations to Microsoft Teams Phone. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience migrating legacy PBX and VoIP systems to Microsoft Teams Phone, configuring voice connectivity, and ensuring minimal disruption to business communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute migrations from legacy PBX, on-premises telephony, or existing VoIP platforms to Microsoft Teams Phone.


• Assess existing telephony infrastructure, including phone numbers, extensions, call flows, SIP trunks, gateways, and voice routing.


• Configure Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Calling Plans as applicable to the migration architecture.


• Configure and troubleshoot Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP trunks, voice gateways, and call‑routing policies.


• Manage number porting, user assignments, dial plans, emergency calling, auto attendants, and call queues.


• Develop migration plans, test cases, rollback procedures, and cutover strategies to minimize downtime.


• Troubleshoot complex voice issues, including call failures, one‑way audio, latency, packet loss, and SIP signaling errors.


• Coordinate with network teams, telecom providers, vendors, and business stakeholders throughout migration projects.


• Validate call quality, functionality, security, and service availability after migration.


• Maintain technical documentation, migration reports, and post‑migration support procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in enterprise telephony, unified communications, or voice infrastructure.


• Strong hands‑on experience migrating enterprise telephony systems to Microsoft Teams Phone.


• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Teams Admin Center, Teams PowerShell, SIP, VoIP, SBCs, and Direct Routing.


• Experience with number porting, dial plans, voice routing, auto attendants, and call queues.


• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs, and Quality of Service (QoS).


• Proven ability to plan migration cutovers, troubleshoot production issues, and execute rollback procedures.


• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AudioCodes, Ribbon, Cisco, Oracle, or other enterprise telephony platforms.


• Microsoft Teams Phone or relevant Microsoft 365 certifications.


• Experience with large‑scale enterprise voice migrations and hybrid telephony environments.

Working Schedule

The candidate must work according to Singapore Standard Time (SGT, UTC+8) and collaborate with regional stakeholders during Singapore business hours.
