Job Description

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Starting Salary: $65,000 Job Summary: Reporting to the MP & L Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will coordinate the activities of the Shipping Department including preparation and shipment of finished products to customers. Ensures shipments meet delivery requirements. Responsibilities

  • Record incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
  • Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed order.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy,
completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels.
  • Inspect incoming metal and verify that it meets specifications.
  • Create shipping schedule for customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with various members of management team to ensure timely delivery
of products or delivery of cores and metal.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and send out daily ship list and short list.
  • Perform customer return processing.
  • Perform activities to support month end inventory.
  • Resolve shipping issues with customers or freight carriers.
  • Create cost reduction recommendations and continuous improvement plans
applicable to material flow and handling in shipping and receiving.
  • Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure team members are fulling trained and able to fill in for any member.
  • Follow all safety and environmental guidelines in the plant.
  • Approve team member timecards in Plex.
  • 5S work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Academic Requirements * 3+ years’ shipping and receiving experience within manufacturing environment, automotive industry preferred. * Strong understanding of inventory management processes and systems, as well products and production processes. Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience with Excel, Plex and other software.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people.
  • Strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business
problems. * Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime based on customer needs. * Must be able to receive and maintain a mobile equipment license.
