Position OverviewEnsign Partners is seeking an experienced CPA and people leader to join our growing team as Tax Manager.
This isn't your typical tax management role. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, providing proactive tax strategy, education, and guidance as part of an integrated team of legal, insurance, financial, tax, and coaching professionals.
Equally important, you'll lead and develop a team of tax professionals responsible for executing the work, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and an exceptional client experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted tax advisor to business owners, building strong client relationships through proactive planning, education, and strategic guidance.Participate in face-to-face client advisory meetings, collaborating across Ensign's legal, insurance, financial, tax, and coaching teams.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.Oversee the delegation, preparation, and review of individual and business tax returns, including S-Corps, C-Corps, and Partnerships.Provide technical oversight for complex tax matters, including federal and multi-state taxation, tax projections, and quarterly estimated payments.Ensure quality, compliance, and timely execution of client deliverables while continuously improving team processes and workflows.
QualificationsActive CPA license required.5+ years of progressive tax experience, including preparation, review, and strategic tax planning.Strong technical knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, and multi-state taxation.Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing tax professionals.Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships and communicate complex tax strategies clearly.Strong leadership, delegation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with Intuit ProConnect, Tax Advisor, and cloud-based practice management tools preferred.
