Position Summary:Works closely with the Project Manager to plan and coordinate activities of designated construction projects ensuring the goals and objectives are accomplished within a set time frame. Ensures work is completed successfully per the specifications and plans.
Qualifications:• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering• 2+ years of experience• Knowledge of construction plans and specification• Ability to oversee projects and employees• Ability to schedule/prioritize all work assignments• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with awide range of diverse individuals
Supervisory Responsibility:This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, but works closely with Project Coordinators and may assign tasks as necessary.
Essential Functions:Assist project manager in reviewing proposals/plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for project completion, staffing requirements, allotment of available resources to various phasesWorks with Pre-Construction department in setting up project, distributes paperwork to appropriate personnelPrepares job cost breakdown sheets and schedule of values.Attends turnover meetingsConsults with project manager to devise project work plans, duties, responsibilities, the overall scope of authorityAssist with coordination/monitoring of activities being completed by project teams to ensure the overall quality of workReviews status reports from project teams, modifies schedules/budgets when required.Prepares project reports for supervisorPrepares submittals, submittal status, release and deliveryWorks with the PM to review labor reports and update monthly WIPsMonitors and reviews equipment and tools on projectsWorks closely with SuperintendentsAttends close out meetings with the appropriate personnel at the conclusion of assigned projectsAssists project teams and other Project Managers with problem resolutionInspects all project work sites to ensure safety and cleanlinessWorks with project manager to formulate change orders/extra work orders when neededFollow up on change order statusCoordinates/monitors all changes pertaining to the scope of workPrepares and files all purchase ordersAid in securing all permits, fees, licenses, etc.Coordinate planning of fabrications needed for construction projects
Work Environment:Pleasant and safe working atmosphere and conditions, which at times, may involve moderateexposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Majority of work is performed in a standard office environment.
Physical Effort: Light physical effort, requires handling of average-weight objects up to 15 pounds and some standing and walking.
Pay and Benefits:Base: $70K-$80KProject incentives: if the project team finishes the job under budget, part of those savings can flow back to the teamFull benefits
